Show up

In running as in life, its really important to show up!  In the last few weeks and months, I’ve observed several people not showing up.  Sometimes I show interest in a product or service and I’m not contacted again.  Sometimes its people wanting a new job role where I could have some sway, and then not submitting an application.  Sometimes its having a training plan that’s completely tailored to your needs and goals, and not doing a training session.

Showing up is so so important, and that’s what I learnt when I first took up regular exercise in the form of rowing.  You couldn’t row a boat without the right number of people, so you had to show up each time, and just by showing up each time, over an 8 week period, significant gains in fitness and in skill were made.
